Margie Remmers-Davis is transforming accounting education by making learning hands-on, practical, engaging—and fun!

With a background in software training, Margie built an internal training department and pioneered computer-based learning in the medical software industry. After an 18-year break to raise her children, she suddenly found herself in the midst of an unexpected divorce, broken, destitute, and starting over. Unable to find a traditional job, she turned to bookkeeping, only to discover major gaps in accounting education.

She realized that traditional methods focus too much on theory and not enough on real-world application. Drawing on her training expertise, she reimagined accounting education, simplifying complex concepts and integrating hands-on practice.

This led to Akadian Accounting Education, which has since trained over 14,000 bookkeepers. Margie’s mission is clear: to equip aspiring professionals with the confidence, clarity, and practical skills they need to thrive in an evolving industry—reshaping the future of accounting education.
